I am 43 and recently lost my two month old to SIDS. I want another baby as soon as possible but I recently had a shot of Depo Provera. How soon can I safely become pregnant?
I am so very sorry for the loss of your baby and I can understand your desire to get pregnant as soon as possible.
Depo Provera is a progesterone, which alters cervical mucus and may cause anovulation (no egg is released). It will "wear off" in 82 to 90 days after the injection but some women have been reported to have difficulty getting pregnant immediately after the three months. Because you have just had one injection, this may not be true for you.
