Materials
• Colored construction paper
• Fine sandpaper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Clear nail varnish
• Yarn
Directions
Draw a simple shape that your child would like for a jewel. Cut the shape out plus 5 copies of it from the colored paper. Glue the shapes one on top of each other. Wait a day until the glue dries. Using the sandpaper, sand the edges until smooth. Also. sand the top and bottom until the colors show through. The more your child sands, the brighter the jewel will become. Brush the clear nail varnish over it and when the jewel is dry I you can punch a hole through it so that it can be worn as a necklace or ring using the yarn.
