Materials

• Old tires or hula hoops
• Jump rope or tow rope
• Laundry baskets
• Cardboard cartons
• Chair or stool

Directions

Outside or in the garage, set up an obstacle course for your child using equipment from the house and yard. Your child should have obstacles to go under, over, through, around, inside, and outside. Colored yarn or chalk can be used for your child to follow. Aside from the materials listed above, you could have your child go under a rug, hop along a ladder on the ground, and swing from a rope. Once the course becomes familiar, your child could try it moving backwards or could be timed.
