With summer in full swing, it's more difficult to muster up that pregnancy glow when you're hot and tired (and, for some of us, huge!). Even if you don't exactly feel radiant, it's easy to fake it with these smart summer pampering strategies. With a couple of at-home treatments and in-salon ideas, you can enjoy this pregnant summer as a hot-looking and cool-feeling mama-to-be.
What a Scrub
This invigorating sugar body scrub can help keep you cool. Just ease into the tub and let the scrubbing begin!
Brown Sugar Scrub
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup jojoba oil
1/4 cup liquid soap
Place the sugar in a medium-size bowl. Add the honey, jojoba oil and liquid soap and mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Make sure your bathroom is warm. Dry the tub, line it with towels and lower yourself in. Then gently massage the scrub all over your skin, from neck to toe (it's a little too abrasive for your face). After a full-body application, remove the towels from the tub and rinse the scrub from your skin with warm water. The jojoba oil will make the tub slippery, so be very careful when rinsing yourself and when getting out.
After a revitalizing scrub, be sure to moisturize and — as always — apply plenty of sunblock before going outside for summer R&R.
