What was your favorite Mother's Day? We asked iVillagers to share their stories, and here's what they had to say:
Citywide Celebration
"There is one Mother's Day that truly sticks in my mind. My husband, John, and daughter, Deanna, and I had just moved to Albany, New York, and I was feeling blue. Money was tight and Mother's Day happened to fall on my 25th birthday. On top of that, my husband said he had a surprise for me (I hate surprises!). Because I was feeling so blue, he said, the city of Albany was throwing me a party. Ha! I thought. That isn't going to happen. Well, he took me to Washington Park, and lo and behold, there was a huge party going on! It was the city's annual Tulip Fest, and while we were there, my husband and daughter made sure that everyone knew that it was not only Mother's Day-it was my birthday too! They truly went out of their way to make me feel like the whole city was there to celebrate 'my day'-and I couldn't have been any happier!"
